The psychological view of myths has been formed since Freud's time. In this school of mythology there are two main and important viewpoints and mythologists are divided into these two categories. Freud and his disciples are on one side, and Jung and his disciples on the other. Among Jung's disciples, Joseph Campbell developed his own single-myth theory, believing that all the myths of the universe are just a form of one myth and all express a hero's journey in some way. After the introduction of literary critics in Iran to this theory, various studies in the form of articles and dissertations were carried out on Persian literature texts with the help of this theory. In most of these studies, the hero's journey is analyzed in a story and its various stages are described. The present paper aims to take a different look at Mahdi Akhavan Sales poetry and reread some of his poems using Campbell's theory. The authors of this article believe that the hero's journey can be traced in several poems by Mahdi Akhavan Sales in his various poetry books in a comparative way and showed why his heroes never achieve their goal and at which stage of the journey they fail.
