Christopher Vogler's mythological structure, based on Joseph Campbell's book The Hero with a Thousand Faces, has been used intermittently in the world of storytelling and film over the years. Vogler believes there are mythological patterns within the structure of dramatic and narrative works, and these patterns are repeated across various works. Vogler calls this repeatable pattern the "Hero's Journey. Accordingly, based on this theory, researchers analyze and examine the novel Schindler's List (1982) and the screenplay of Schindler's List (1993) to determine whether these two works follow this mythological structure and the pattern of the Hero's Journey. Since both the film and the novel focus on the heroic actions of Oskar Schindler, the question arises: Can these two works be aligned with the mythological pattern and include the transformation and rebirth of Oskar Schindler as the hero of the story? In this comparative study, conducted within the American school of comparative literature using an analytical-descriptive method and relying on library and archival sources, an attempt has been made to demonstrate how the twelve stages of the Hero's Journey are followed in the novel and screenplay of Schindler's List and how they reflect the mythological structure. The results of the investigation indicate that the transformation of Oskar Schindler's character from a profit-seeking businessman to a savior can be well explained within the framework of this mythological pattern.
